As many know, Cole persistently asked Katie out many times. She eventually said yes! Cole first reached out to Katie via good ole snapchat messages after gaining approval from Katie's matron of honor, Kylee. Cole lived in Arizona at the time, but soon moved back to KC while Katie was in grad school. Cole was a huge reason Katie pursued travel OT despite that meaning a distance relationship, as he also loved traveling and was all for visiting new places (and checking out new golf courses of course). We are so happy to officially be back in KC and love spending our time exploring nearby parks and restaurants, spending time with family and friends, and spoiling our doggo Rex.

As we normally do during the holiday season, we were beboppin' between Manhattan and Kansas City to make it to all of our extended family Christmases. On the 21st we drove back from Manhattan then headed to Katie's parents house to meet up before heading out to a Christmas gathering. While Katie was putting Rex upstairs, Cole shushed everyone outside, then waited on the front porch to pop the question. Katie has so many memories and pictures growing up on the front porch steps, so Cole wanted to make one more before Katie's parents move in a few months. Katie was surprised to see Cole's family (who they just saw in Manhattan) and both of us were surprised to see Tyler and Maddy who drove up from Chicago! We spent the rest of the evening with our families, as we've talked for so long about trying to find a time to get us all together! Luckily with the holiday season we were able to see and celebrate with many friends and family, and we're so excited to get to celebrate again with you all in August!
