We met on tinder (yes tinder) in early 2019. There is an unsettled disagreement of who messaged who first. Mark asked Katie out on a date and Katie chose the spot. We met at a coffee shop on a Sunday and talked for over three hours about everything, family, friends, music, plans for the future, you name it. We still go to that coffee shop every year on February 10th for coffee and a lemon bar. Actually two lemon bars because they’re Mark’s favorite and Katie knows he doesn’t want to share (he would if she asked though).
Mark proposed to Katie at Westman’s Christmas Tree Farm where we get our tree from every year (shout out to Mark’s mom Heather for starting that tradition). As soon as we began our search for the perfect tree it started snowing. Hard. But through that blizzard we found our tree. Before cutting the tree Mark got down on one knee and told Katie she was the love of his life and proposed. She said yes (spoiler). Mark cut down the tree while Katie wiped away happy tears and off we went to celebrate with our families. It was the happiest day of our lives…so far.
