How We Met

Best thing to ever come from a dumpster!

It all started at station one. I saw this quirky and cute girl, we made eye contact and she said "hey what's your name?" I replied "Kourtlyn, wanna go smoke behind the dumpster?" We talked for what felt like 5 minutes but the next thing we know our partners are looking for us and we are super late going into service. Our partners were good friends so I would always ask my partner if he would have them meet us at post. We became good friends and continued to awkwardly flirt. In September of 2019 we were recalled for a hurricane. While waiting for everyone who was going to be stationed where I was, the most beautiful woman came walking across the parking lot, she was wearing a bright pink shirt, adidas joggers and duck boots. We set our mattresses up in the hallway with our other co-workers and every night we stayed up late talking and it was then we found our connection. After that we were inseparable. On October 12, 2019 after the races, Kali asked me to be her girlfriend in the kitchen of her apartment. Since then our love has grown more than words can express and our families have become one big family!

The Proposal

She likes it so she put a ring on it!

Within a few months of dating, I knew I found my soul mate. I sat my parents down in the garage and told them I wanted to marry Kali, and with tears in both of their eyes, they said they would not want me to be with anyone else. I then asked Kalis' father, and he said I knew it was coming, welcome to the family. I found the perfect ring and was set to plan a proposal day. My parents had the perfect date in mind, their 30th wedding anniversary. My mom said having Kali become apart of the family would be the best anniversary gift. On June 29, 2020 I surprised Kali in Downtown Savannah at Chippewa Square in front of The Savannah Theatre with both of our families. I got down on one knee in front of the beautiful theatre and asked the love of my life to marry me. I still do not know if she said yes. Stay Tuned for Kalis' proposal story.....
