As you may know, Jacob is not the most patient person :) The proposal was originally planned for a Colorado friends trip in June 2021, then moved up to a potential New York trip in Spring 2021, then a Galena trip in February 2021, then Christmas 2020 (Emma loves Christmas!), then FINALLY it was decided ... Jacob couldn't wait that long. With the help of Andrew and Chris Brewer (Jacob's Best People), he decided when the leaves turned in October, that would be the big day (unfortunately, it still meant a little waiting for Jacob!). Cut to Jacob setting up the day. Chris is an aspiring photographer and asked if we would be willing to do a photo shoot to build up their portfolio. Chris and Andrew invited us to a (socially distanced) picnic at Sugarbottom Park in North Liberty that would be followed by the photo shoot. Emma and Jacob were excited to finally have a reason to dress up since they had been stuck in their house for so long! Although they had gotten quite used to wearing pajamas all day. Emma even said "Can't I just wear sweats? This isn't even really about US.". But Jacob convinced her to dress up anyway. And it's a good thing he did. The day finally came and it was a perfect, fall day. The leaves had turned and the park was just beautiful. It was time for the photo shoot and Chris had them do some poses. Then they asked Emma to step forward and pose. Emma felt awkward, but little did she know, Jacob was preparing to get down on one knee behind her. Chris told Emma to turn around and there was Jacob, down on his knee with a ring in his hand. Of course she said YES! And they're so grateful to have the whole thing documented on camera (even the crying). #thekostivlove #priceless
