Way back in 2009, a couple of kids shared a bus route. Lauren spotted a cute boy and caught that he had golden eyes. She couldn't help but talk to him. They became best friends. They eventually fell in love.

Last summer, Lauren and John took a vacation in Masthope, PA. A group of their friends came up to spend some days in the fresh mountain air and to check out the Wayne County Fair. They went on a scenic hike at Dingman's Falls. John surprised Lauren by proposing in front of a waterfall. Of course she said yes.

When Lauren finally started really wedding planning, she started looking around August 13th, as that was the day they had gotten engaged. She randomly decided on August 10th, as it was the Saturday before. Without even realizing, Lauren had picked the anniversary of her Godfather Dave and her Aunt Denise. After speaking with Denise and receiving her blessing, Lauren was informed that August 10th was also her Poppop and Grandma Vicki's wedding anniversary. It felt like fate.
