One crisp fall evening, Kat was on her way to play Trivia with some friends from the meetup group she was a part of. Upon arrival, the venue was very crowded, so one of her friends asked if she would go over to a booth where 2 men were sitting as ask politely if they would move. He felt that it would come off more nicely coming from a woman. Kat went up to these gentlemen, one of which was Kevin and said, "Hey, we've got this really big group of people coming to trivia, would you guys mind moving?" To which Kevin replied, "NO..." Kat was flabbergasted. Then her friend came around the corner, and said, "Oh hi, Kevin, I didn't realize it was you." Turns out Kevin was a part of the trivia group. The night went on the 2 were talking and heckling each other. Once Trivia was over, Kat said her goodbyes and started to walk out to her car. And then Kevin came chasing after her. At this moment he knew very well that he could have been pepper sprayed, but he proceeded to ask for her number and if she would like to get some coffee sometime. A very socially awkward Kat replied with, "that's fine." Embarrassed, later that night she wondered if she would hear back from him. That's fine? Really? There are so many things she could have said that were 100% better than "That's fine." Later that week, they went on a date, and the rest is history.

Kat and Kevin were planning a vacation to Big Bend. Kat (who was too smart for her own good) cleverly figured out that Kevin was going to propose during the vacation. Kevin, however would not let the surprise go ruined. Kat had to work late that evening and was going to stay at the office. This was the perfect opportunity for Kevin to get his proposal plan ready. But Kat quickly changed her mind and decided that she wanted to work from home. In a panic, Kevin came up with a few stall tactics. He asked Kat to order some Thai food, and then stalled her again by asking her to pick up a few things from Target. An annoyed Kat, knowing that Kevin was fully aware that she still had to work late, she obliged. But this was not done in vain. Once Kat opened the door to the apartment, she was greeted with a trail of roses circling around the living room and into the bedroom. On the bed, was a little camping lantern and a book, that read "Important Dates". inside the on the first page read, "Kathrine and Kevin," inside of a heart. In the next page of the book was the ring. Kevin snuck up behind Kat, and asked, "Will you marry me?" To which Kat replied, "Are you SERIOUS!?!? I mean, YES!"
