In true Texas fashion this love story starts at a football game. More precisely at a tailgate. A tailgate that Jordyn hadn't originally planned to attend because she had to fly out of town that evening for a wedding the next day. Kory first laid eyes on Jordyn at that tailgate and realized she was the greatest person to ever walk the earth so obviously he had to ask her out. Okay, that's not exactly what happened. The introduction at the tailgate was pleasant, but short. "Hi, I'm Kory. Nice to meet you." Unbeknownst to them the events that would transpire over the next 5 hours would alter the course of their lives. As they left the tailgate to walk toward the stadium Jordyn had every intention of getting in her Uber to head to the airport, but that's not what happened. Instead she was badgered by a friend to accept a spare ticket in the same suite as Kory. At halftime, the game was already a blowout and Kory, being the extremely kind soul that he is, noticed that these two poor girls were surrounded by people they didn't know and offered to take them bar hopping instead. Emily and Jordyn happily took Kory up on his offer. Some time later that night Kory dropped the girls off at their house, but not before making sure to get Jordyn's number. The next afternoon he texted her to make sure she got to her cross country wedding, which she had. He asked if they could do it again sometime soon and Jordyn agreed. A week later they went on their first date. Then a month later their second. Then three weeks after that, their third. Eventually their hangouts became much more frequent and then Covid hit. With the lockdowns in effect they spent plenty of time cooking, watching Netflix and walking around the neighborhood. As travel restrictions lifted, they were able to travel more and explore the world together. Eventually Kory decided that he wanted Jordyn to be his lifetime travel companion and in April of 2022 proposed on a wildly windy day at a beach in Pacific City, Oregon. After the private proposal they went back to the house they were sharing with 8 of their closest friends for a surprise engagement party. Jordyn and Kory both feel extremely lucky for the time they have spent together, the adventures they have shared, and the friends they have made and look forward to continue making memories together forever.
