Working in the Emergency Room I often had little old ladies try to set me up with their grandchildren. I respectfully declined being set up often. One day I was at work and one of my favorite security officers Danelle asked if I was single, to which I reluctantly replied "yes." She showed a picture of her nephew and told me he was an EMT with AMR, which is an ambulance company that often brings us patients. I told her I would keep my eye out for him but I wouldn't give her any guarantees. A few weeks went by, the pandemic began and honestly I couldn't recognize my own coworkers behind the PPE, so I definitely wasn't going to be able to recognize someone I had only seen in a picture. I got a message request on Instagram meaning that someone I didn't know was trying to message me. Ian sent me a message saying "I heard you were looking for me." My first thought was who does this kid think he is thinking I am looking for him. So, I told him the whole story. I told him his aunt had shown me a picture of him and said to keep an eye out for him and if I did see him I was supposed to talk him due to "getting really embarrassed by pretty girl talking to him."-Danelle. We talked for a week or so before he finally asked me out, except the pandemic has just started and there was no "out." Our first date was making burritos at my college apartment. Like any good college apartment I was lacking in many kitchen necessities, including a can opener. We first bonded over stabbing a can of refried beans with a knife for about 20 minutes, it is not as easy as you would think. Ian and I went on countless dates after that and fell in love very quickly. On March 5, 2021 Ian asked me to marry me and of course I said yes. So here we are now. We hope and pray that you all can make it to our wedding and we are so excited to celebrate with you.
