On a hot summer day at Colaluca Family Campground, our story began in the most unexpected way — during a campground power outage. We were both camping when the power suddenly went out, so naturally everyone headed over to see what was going on. A tree had fallen onto the power lines, and while I was trying to see over the crowd, Billy offered to let me climb on his back for a better view. Not exactly your typical romantic moment, but apparently it worked. The next morning, Billy drove by my camper and yelled, “Someone’s finally awake!” I responded by flipping him off… and somehow, that was the beginning of us. From that weekend on, we’ve been inseparable. What started with a fallen tree and some campground sarcasm quickly turned into the kind of love built on friendship, laughter, and doing everything together. We’ve traveled, made countless memories, and built a life that feels fun, easy, and full of love. The best part of our story is the family we’ve created together. Billy brought his amazing son, Liam, and I brought my incredible son, Brayden. Together, we blended our families, became best friends, and found a love neither of us expected — but both of us are endlessly grateful for. Turns out, all it took was a power outage to light up the rest of our lives.
