Countdown to Carlock

Our Story We met in high school as part of the same big group of friends. He was a star basketball player, and I ran track and cross country. Since our school did not have a football team, basketball season was everything. My friends and I would be in the stands cheering him on, celebrating every big moment on the court. In the middle of that busy, fun high school life, something started to shift. Even though we were always surrounded by friends, we would find little ways to sneak away at our lunch table just to talk one on one. What started as inside jokes and easy conversations slowly turned into something deeper. On January 5, 2018, during our junior year, we decided to explore a relationship, and it has been the best decision we have ever made. We chose to attend Missouri State University together, even when people warned us we would not last the first year. Instead, we grew up side by side. We earned our bachelor’s degrees together, learned how to navigate adulthood together, and built a relationship rooted in friendship, faith, support, and choosing each other every single day. Now, as we look ahead to December 18, 2026, we are so excited to continue building our life together and navigating every season hand in hand.
