We laugh about this a lot! In 2014 we technically met for the first time, but it was a night out with friends in Uptown Dallas, and we were not aware until a mutual friend showed us a picture we took together the night we "remember" we both met. In 2015 we were both out on a Friday night, this time at a club off of Henderson, with two friend groups who happen to all know each other. While at a table where our groups had merged and were hanging out talking, we caught each other's eye, both sitting on opposite ends of the table. I gestured to Brandon, asking him if he wanted to grab a drink inside since the conversation was starting to be a bit boring (sorry, friends). We ended up spending the rest of the night drinking, dancing, and talking, completely unaware that we had met an entire year before! As if that wasn't crazy, my boss at Red Bull grew up and had known Brandon since they were 17 years old! Once I put their friendship together, I knew it was more than just a coincidence that Brandon I met.

I arranged a surprise proposal for our Vacation to Riveria Mia, Mexico, where we stayed at a brand new resort and spa called Unico 2087. I planned the entire vacation with a Travel Agent. I told her I plan to propose, and I want to take her somewhere romantic, all-inclusive, and adult-only resort. Our Travel Agent recommended Unico 2087, sent me proposal idea pictures from the resort, and connected me with someone who created the setup beautifully without any requirements from me other than "romantic." The night of the proposal, while she is getting ready, I ran out of the room to make sure the layout was prepared and handed our server the ring. I said, "you better protect this ring with your life!" I sprint back to the room, where Koren was finishing getting ready because she is always late or, as she says, fashionably late. Now I'm nervous and sweating from running. I remember Koren commenting, "why are you so sweaty? Do you want to change?" I told her it was from Mexico's humidity, and I would probably sweat through a new shirt anyway. Once she was ready, we walked together to the proposal dinner on the other side of the resort. Koren knew we were going to a private dinner but didn't know any further details. She was immediately amazed by the private dinner and setup. We had glasses of champagne and a 6-course delicious dinner. I'm just chugging champagne because I'm so nervous while sweating like crazy. The server then says I have a special surprise. Koren assuming it's more chocolate, was very excited since we already finished the dessert course. Our server brings a plate with a silver covering, and he asked her to do the honors. She opens it, and there's the ring with chocolate and macarons. Koren burst into tears and says, "Is this happening?" I got down on one knee, asked her to marry me, and she said yes! We got back to the room, celebrating with more champagne and sharing the great news with our family and friends. Best night of my life forever!
