Secora and Kordell met through Secora's sister. Kordell and Taylor had been becoming friends. Soon Taylor realized Secora would make a perfect match to Kordell. Secora at first did not want to give Kordell a chance. But after Taylor relentlessly badgered Secora about giving him a chance. She did and on their first date Secora fell for the goofy, kind, and handsome Kordell.

Secora had been gone for the weekend spending time with her family, cheering on her little sister. Kordell had been home thinking and thinking but could not remember what Secora's ring size was. Quickly he asked her best friend Angel. Angel sneakily asked Secora saying she was getting herself and Secora friendship rings. Secora had no idea what was about to go down or soon anyway. Kordell had planned on making a big romantic gesture by getting Secora flowers and getting on one knee in front of where they had their first date. (they went dancing at the Metlin in Dillon) But when Secora got home from spending time with her family, Kordell couldn't wait any longer he wanted to ask right then. Kordell told Secora to turn around in the corner. She did but very confused. When Kordell said to turn around he was on his knee holding the ring out. Secora, in turn, said "Well aren't you going to ask?!" she said this while almost in tears and smiling this ear to ear. Well, you know the end of the story. She said YES!
