Welcome to Madison! Below are some ideas of things to do/restaurants to go to while you are in town.

A mile-long street that starts at Bascom Hill (UW-Madison) and ends at the Capital. Lots of restaurants, bars, coffee shops, novelty stores, and people watching.

State Street

Early October is a perfect time to go to the zoo! Admission is free.

Henry Vilas Zoo

The Memorial Union Terrace is right on Lake Mendota and is open to the public. It is a great place to grab some ice cream, or a beer, and listen to live music in the evening or watch the Hoofer sailboats.

Beautiful gardens, free admission to the outdoor gardens and $2 admission to the indoor Conservatory.

Olbrich Botanical Gardens

Great rainy day activity. Tons of art ranging from ancient times to modern day. Free admission.

Chazen Museum of Art

One of our favorite bars/restaurants. Good food, good drinks (60 Wisconsin beers on tap!), family friendly.

The Old Fashioned

This family business makes their own noodles. Awesome noodle soups (Tong Mein)! I always get the Wonton and Gyoza Tong Mein.

Wah Kee

The best burgers in Madison (I always get the Black and Blue). Come hungry! Serving sizes are huge!
