Jordan and Amanda "met" via Twitter DMs in May, but weren't able to go on an actual date until June because of Jordan's baseball schedule. The day of their date, Jordan picked Amanda up and took her to get breakfast before he had to drive to Everett for his game. They talked for as long as they could before he had to leave, and when he asked if he could see her again, she blurted out, "how about tonight?!" (Looking back, that may have come across a little too strong...oh well!) They were inseparable every day after that, until Amanda had to go back to Pullman for her sophomore year at WSU, and from there they decided to do the unthinkable and do long distance until Amanda graduated. They're so glad they did. :)
The day before Thanksgiving, Jordan took Amanda up to Snoqualmie Falls to meet up with Amanda's friend Miranda, a photographer, to take some winter photos. Amanda was completely oblivious to the idea of a proposal since they had recently closed on their townhome in Arizona. They spent about 45 minutes taking photos, and right at the end Jordan suggested they go out on a rock in the middle of Snoqualmie River. Amanda was all for it--those pictures would turn out so cool! Little did she know it was all part of a plan: Miranda told her to step forward, and then to turn around, where she found Jordan on one knee! It was so shocking and surreal, and definitely the happiest day of her life. Amanda is so thankful to have such a thoughtful fiancé and they're both grateful for such a talented friend to capture the moment.
