Question

Is a passport required to go to the Bahamas?

Answer

Yes! If you do not have a passport or need to renew, it may take 4-6 weeks to process and return in the mail.

Question

Do I need to use the travel agent to book?

Answer

Due to the use of a group code, our travel agent needs to be utilized for booking your room, otherwise your stay may not be counted towards our wedding group. You may book your flight separately, but send the travel agent your flight itinerary so she can coordinate your transport to the resort (included with you room). You may talk to the travel agent before you are ready to book to ask her any questions you have regarding any Sandals policies.

Question

How long should my stay be?

Answer

We assume most guests will stay a minimum of 3 nights, likely arriving the day before the wedding and leaving 2 days after the wedding (arrive Tuesday- depart Friday). With that said, you are more than welcome to come early and stay as long as you’d like! We will be arriving Sunday and departing Saturday.

Question

What is the dress code for the resort?

Answer

Resort casual (during the day): Shorts or jeans, t-shirts or polo shirts, sandals or footwear of your choice. Resort evening (if attending some restaurants): Pants/jeans for men with long/short sleeve dress shirts or polos. You must wear closed toe shoes to some of the restaurants that require the dress code. Please visit the Sandals website or app to learn more about their dress code.

Question

Can I book excursions separate from the group?

Answer

Of course! We want you to make the most of your time in Nassau. Treat this not only as a wedding celebration, but also a vacation! To plan around the wedding festivities, you can reference the schedule tab on the wedding website. At the resort, you may book through the on-site excursion staff. All excursion options are available on the Sandals app and you may book them before your arrival as well. If you need any assistance with the Sandals app, please reach out to Meghan.

Question

What should I wear to the wedding?

Answer

Ladies: Semi-formal dresses can be short or long, spring colors are encouraged! Baltic Born or LuLu's are good places to look but feel free to get your attire from anywhere. Gentlemen: Khaki, linen, or dress pants will help bear the heat and a spring or pastel button up could match nicely. Please no casual Hawaiian shirts. Men, let your women dress you, she will know what to do.

Question

Do you have a registry?

Answer

No, we do not have a gift registry. Due to the nature of the destination wedding, your presence is more than enough! If you still want to give a gift, cash would be preferred.

Question

Pro Tips:

Answer

(1) In your carry on you should pack a swim suit and light clothes to change into so you can start enjoying the resort as soon as you get there! Flip flops/sandals are highly recommended as well. (2) Don't forget sunscreen! There is an on-site retail store where you can purchase many daily use items, clothing, and much more but it's cheaper if you don't forget it. Ask Meghan how she knows! (3) If you chose to venture off the resort, the exchange rate between USD and Bahamian currency is 1 to 1. If you have Bahamian currency in your possession off the resort, they prefer that you spend that first. (4) Transportation to and from the airport is included and arranged for you once the travel agent has your flight itinerary. (5) Beach towels are provided free of charge at the resort so there's no need to pack them.
