Johann and I worked together at Target in College Point for nearly 3 years before crossing paths. I liked him the moment I met him, but he needed some convincing. I flirted with him every time I saw him, saying things like "You look good in flannel," "You sound sexy when you speak Spanish," and "Do you want a kiss?" as I handed him a Hershey's kiss. We still joke about my corny pick up lines. As silly as they were, it worked. We went on our first date to see Star Wars, although Johann argues that it wasn't a date. Our first official date was karaoke, and we made our relationship official on January 16, 2018. The next year and a half were filled with travel, dates, love and laughter. On May 23, 2019, I found out I was pregnant. I had just turned 20, was still in college, and was a little nervous when I saw that plus sign. That day, I put the test in a box, and when I picked Johann up from work, I handed it to him saying I got him a present. When he opened it, his face lit up. I had never seen him happier. All my worries melted away. We hugged and cried and kissed. We had our baby boy Jonah on January 27, 2020. He proposed on May 15, 2020 while we were painting the living room of our first apartment together. These past five years have not always been easy, but it has always been worth it, and I can't wait to marry the love of my life with our baby boy by our side.
