Enter the apartment on the Hill. As you pass through a crowd of semi-drunk individuals, you make your way into a living room. A group of people are playing a weird game where they punch themselves in the shoulder. On one couch sits an anxious and awkward brunette girl, just trying to keep cool and win the game. Across the room sits a brawny, quiet, yet confident, young man. He immediately catches her eye. They continue the game until the party decides to go downtown. Every once in a while since, they are friends with the same group of people, the two interact in fleeting moments. An moment that she specifically remembers is when her and a friend were waiting in line to get upstairs at Fat Belly's. The young man, for a short time, was a bouncer and as they were waiting in line, she ferociously waved to him only to get a head nod. After a few more run-ins, he finally was thinking that this weird girl was pretty interesting and mustered the courage to ask her out for sushi. She practiced how to eat with chopsticks with her friends, aimed at impressing the young man and he planned to show up in his mom's fancy car, trying the same. Over that dinner, where the young man led the girl to the wrong side of Surf (not the sushi side.. even though she insisted she was right) they laughed and enjoyed each other's time. Skip ahead in time and they own two crazy dogs, live together in a new house, and are each other's best friends! (The young man is Chris and the girl is Becky.. in case you couldn't put two and two together.)
