Our love story is a compilation of all the encouraging words you hear during a breakup “If you love something, set it free. If it comes back, it was meant to be.” “YOU WILL NEVER MISS OUT ON WHAT'S TRULY MEANT FOR YOU.” “ For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11 ESV Turns out they are true. We were introduced in August of 2018 by “the matchmaker” aka Konstance’s best friend Felicia. Beau was her coworker starting his 2nd year as a professor at WSSU and Konstance was living in Atlanta but relocating to the area in a few months. The connection over the phone was instant and we communicated 24/7 and upon Konstance’s arrival to Winston we did everything together: dates, walks in the park, relaxing in the backyard, or just being in the house. At one point we counted and realized we had seen each other everyday for 33 days in a row yet somehow we still weren’t tired of each other! That connection continued for a year but in late 2019 we went our separate ways. In late 2022, we reconnected over an instagram dm(because he was blocked duh 🤣)…A lot had changed over the past 3 years and we were now living 4hrs apart but decided to meet halfway to go on a hike in Asheville NC, we talked for hours, went to a festival, had dinner then went our separate ways. Not really knowing what the future would hold but happy that we were able to communicate again even if just as friends! As time went on it became evident that although we had changed so much individually nothing had changed about the bond we shared and the puzzle pieces were back together and better than ever. 2023 was slow but steady as we were intentional about taking our time to get to know each other again but in September of 2023 a missed flight and impromptu roadtrip led to Konnie meeting her “favorite Beau” face to face for the first time and the bond was instant and she became his Konnie, “Daddy where’s MY Konnie?”…. From there your boy knew he had some moves to make so the next year was spent being intentional about our future. 2024 was spent meeting family and friends while traveling to some of our favorite places. What had been a great summer ended in us each losing a grandparent less than a week apart but that time proved that even if it felt like our worlds were falling apart we were there to hold each other together. As summer shifted into fall we finished our travels to Chicago, Albany, Atlanta, and closed it with our favorite thing to do: taking a cruise and enjoying beaches together. We enjoyed guests and finally relaxed at home in Tennessee. On September 14, 2024 at dinner with family, Beau proposed to Konnie. That proposal is a milestone in the continuation of our love story and journey together. A journey that began in 2018, where we have grown, learned, loved, and built a solid foundation of friendship, respect, and a desire to see the best in each other while also making connections with families and loved ones. And we are excited to continue that journey surrounded by so much love and support.
