The first time I saw him was in this awful teal tank top at a battalion (large) formation, which I remember thinking that was an odd choice for a color in a shirt, but to each their own. I remember him being so awkward but, those baby blue eyes and his kindness stood out to me more than anything. He asked me out the next week at the military ball we had gone to; however, I turned him down. We went on for the next couple of months being friends and I got to know the amazing person he is. Our leadership always teased us, and he even held the title of 'honorary medic' because he was around so often. Till he wore down my walls and I let him take me out on a date....or more of a stay-at-home date. We went and got pizza and picked out our favorite snacks together and watched Star Wars (i lost a bet and he got to pick unfortunately). It was the most relaxed I had ever felt around someone; I felt utterly at peace to be myself. We have gone on lots of adventures since then but some of the best memories are the small ones; our daily evening walk were we enjoy the sunset, our workout sessions where it always turns into a competition, getting ready in the morning for church, or our weekly Friday movie night. He is my best friend and the best partner anyone could ask for.
