In 2012, a few friends had a college party. Robby happened to live in the apartment above the party and stopped down. We awkwardly chatted and exchanged numbers. I had him in the phone as "Robbie" and when we went on our first date a week later, he made sure to inform me that his name was spelled "Robby". We both realized we shared the same taste in music, specifically the band Lotus. Throughout the years our relationship grew stronger. In April 2019, we went to Colorado to see Lotus at Red Rocks Amphitheater. This was an incredible experience and I was SURE he would propose. The scenery surrounded by our friends and favorite music. Halfway through the show I realized it wasn't happening and got visibly annoyed. Robby asked what was wrong and I mentioned "This would have been a GREAT place to propose but its the furthest thing from your mind". Robby asked if we could discuss it the next day and put a pin in it til the concert was over. That comment did not go over well and at that point I was furious. The next morning, We were scheduled to go on a hike in the Rocky Mountains. I was still angry from the night before and the forecast was calling for snow. I opted out of hiking but Robby and our friend Mike were wildly persistent that I needed to go. I drug myself out of bed and to the mountain. We hiked to the summit and the view was amazing. That's when Robby got down on one knee and proposed. I was so surprised an it was so perfect! He had planned it that way the whole time.
