Question

Where is your wedding?

Answer

Our wedding will take place at Fox River Forest Preserve. We will hold our ceremony and reception at shelter A. To access Shelter A from the preserve's main entrance on Roberts Road, turn right at first intersection and follow road to the first parking lot on the left. Parking is ample and free. 28500 W Roberts Road Port Barrington, IL 60010

Question

When is your wedding? When should I arrive?

Answer

Seating for the ceremony is first come, first served, so we kindly ask guests to arrive no earlier than 11 AM and no later than 11:45 AM to find a seat and get settled before the ceremony begins at 12 Noon. The preserve closes at sunset (approximately 6:30 PM) meaning we will conclude around 5:30 to allow time for clean up.

Question

How and when do I RSVP?

Answer

Please RSVP by August 1st so we can finalize everything for the big day! You can RSVP in one of two ways: Online – Click the “RSVP” tab on our wedding website and fill out the form. By phone – Call or text Rachel at 224-409-5520 to let us know if you’ll be attending, who’s coming, and any dietary restrictions. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Due to space limitations, we’re only able to accommodate the guests listed on your invitation. If your envelope includes a “+1” or another guest’s name, they’re invited too! Otherwise, we kindly ask that you attend solo.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Our wedding will be outdoors in a forest preserve with a pavilion. Dressy casual or garden party attire is perfect. think polished but relaxed. Sundresses, midi dresses, jumpsuits, dressy separates, collared shirts, and slacks are all perfect. Ties and jackets are optional. We recommend shoes suitable for grass (flats, wedges, or block heels are great) and bringing a light layer in case the weather cools down in the evening. Please no jeans or sneakers. We’re getting married in early October, so expect crisp fall air, please dress in layers! There will be lawn games provided such as cornhole, ladder toss, bocce ball, ect. Please dress accordingly and feel free to bring your games at home to share!

Question

What's for dinner? Will there be drinks?

Answer

We’re keeping it casual and with a picnic-style dinner featuring pulled pork sandwiches, potato salad, calico beans, fresh fruit, ect. If you have any dietary restrictions, please let us know when you RSVP or text Rachel (224-409-5520) so we can do our best to accommodate. For light drinks, we’ll have beer, wine, hard seltzers, and a variety of non-alcoholic beverages to keep everyone refreshed. Please feel free to bring your own beverages if you'd prefer an alternate option. And yes — there will be dessert!

Question

What happens if it rains?

Answer

We’re keeping an eye on the forecast and will be prepared, rain or shine! If it rains, the ceremony and reception will be held under the pavilion instead of the fields. You won’t need to go anywhere else, just bring a light jacket or umbrella if the forecast looks iffy.

For all the days along the way
