FAQs

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

The dress code is comfortable but nice for pictures. Please dress comfortably but appropriately for a garden wedding. No jeans please! Chairs are not allowed in the garden, so we strongly recommend wearing comfy shoes and bringing a blanket to enjoy the intimate, garden vibe we’re going for! Again, there is no seating allowed; blankets/yoga mats and comfy clothes for sitting on grass/hard floor-like surfaces is best.

Question

What part of the garden should will the ceremony take place?

Answer

We plan to use the symmetrical flower backdrop as our set up, with guests naturally forming a semi circle just before the stone steps. The path gives a natural walkway for the bride and flower girl to enter. 💜

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes, there will be parking available at the park! Free and metered street parking are all within walking distance. There are also free parking lots near the field house close by.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony will start at 10am. Please arrive within 5-10 minutes before the ceremony to get settled. Due to the nature of seating, we plan to get started quickly to respect everyone’s time :)

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Outside of those children connected to the bridal party, no. Please note this is a shortened, standing room only ceremony, and we can only have so many guests in attendance to remain compliant with Chicago park rules. We want as many of our adult friends as possible to be present to celebrate with us. Please keep that in mind when considering bringing the whole crew! If sorting childcare would be a challenge, please reach out! We don’t want that to be a barrier to coming!

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

To ensure we can accommodate all our beloved guests, only those explicitly named on your invitation are included. Thank you for understanding!

Question

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

Answer

Yes, we encourage you to take photos and share them with us! After a few moments in the beginning of the ceremony, the officiant will ask everyone to put away their phones. From that moment on, our photographer will be the only one taking photos. Please just be mindful that for safety reasons, we ask that no photos be posted online.

Question

What happens if it rains?

Answer

Rain or shine, the celebration continues! Please bring umbrellas if rain is in the forecast.
