One of our favorite summer activities is floating the Boise river! The float starts in southeast Boise at a park called Barber Park (6 miles from downtown) and enjoy a 2-3 hour float to downtown park, Ann Morrison Park, on innertubes/rafts (you can rent these at Barber park). You can either drive to the location or walk from downtown to the nearby Ann Morrison park and catch a bus to shuttle you to the drop point for just a few dollars! Be sure to wear sunscreen and bring your favorite beers and white claws! Check out the website for more details. Enjoy a post-float beer across the bridge from Ann Morrison Park at Payette Brewing!
Here are some of our favorite restaurants near/in downtown Boise: Barbacoa Grill (this is a Boise must-see! Located just outside of downtown, a higher end restaurant, known for unique decor and amazing drinks & food, would recommend reservation for dinner. Hit up 4-6pm happy hour for BOGO drinks and apps). Fork (one of Ali & Michelle's go to places in Boise. A perfect downtown location with great food and drink. Try our favorite- BCS salad and butter cake for dessert! Located about 1.5 miles from downtown, backed by the Boise foothills, the affluent North End contains beautiful Camel's Back Park, known for city views, hiking, and biking. The Hyde Park district around 13th street is home to small shops and cafes, and restaurants with patios. We would recommend a morning easy, short hike at Camel's Back park followed but brunch or coffee in the Hyde Park district. Some of our favorite places to go: 13th Street Pub & Grill (great for a casual sit down brunch & dinner) Parilla Grill (fun atmosphere with great tacos and beers) North End Pizza Java Hyde Park (coffee shop) Certified (coffee & known for amazing breakfast sandwiches & lunch) Goody's Soda Fountain (an old fashion creamery with amazing dessert) The Royal (cocktail bar)
