Answer

We will not have a traditional gift registry. If you’d like to bless us with a gift, we will have a wishing well box at the venue for cards and cash gifts. Alternatively, you can Zelle us directly at Komal Siddiqui, Komal.siddiqui01@gmail.com, (571) 288-5856

Question

I've never been to a South Asian wedding, What is the Baraat?

Answer

It is the ultimate pre-ceremony celebration for the groom! Traditionally, our family and friends dance or march along with him to the wedding venue. We invite all our guests to be part of the fun. Meet us outside at 5:30 p.m. to join the music, marching, and dancing as the groom makes his way to the altar. The ceremony and reception will be held indoors

Question

What should I wear? Can I dress in Pakistani clothes?

Answer

Yes, please do! We are happy to see our guests embrace Pakistani fashion (like Kurtha, Shalwar Kameez, Lehenga, Pishwas, or Anarkali) if they wish to. If you feel more comfortable in American formal wear (suits, tuxes, or formal dresses), that is perfectly fine as well and plenty will be in it! Please avoid wearing Blue! Our only request is that everyone respects our cultural traditions of modesty (please avoid low-cut tops, exposed midriffs, short skirts, or bare shoulders)

Question

Where can I purchase Pakistani clothes?

Answer

Etsy shops, Cargari Boutique (Springfield mall), Laam, Nia Mia, Haseens official, Sanaulla, Salai shop. Search "Pakistani/indian clothes near me" and visit stores locally such as in MD. Feel free to send Komal photos to ensure you have the right picks!
