After navigating a sea of fleeting connections and enduring our fair share of uninspiring first dates, we finally crossed paths in April 2022. Our first dinner date was nothing short of extraordinary—it was the most remarkable “first date” either of us had ever experienced. We found ourselves engaged in conversation about everything under the sun—our passions, our dreams, our careers—and somehow, the words flowed effortlessly, as though we had known each other for years. Over the past two years, our connection has only deepened. Despite our cultural differences, we’ve built a bond that transcends borders and traditions. We moved in together in May 2023, and our dogs, Millie and Charley, hit it off immediately, proving that even our fur babies were meant to be part of this adventure. In January 2024, Calvin took a leap of faith—and a long flight—to India, where he courageously asked my parents for their blessing to marry me. He wasn’t just making a gesture; he was embracing tradition, crossing continents, and proving that he’s not only a gentleman but also someone who’ll go the extra mile (or 8,000 miles, to be exact) for the person he loves. Fast forward to August 2024, Calvin proposed to me in Chicago, a city that holds so many firsts for us. It was here that we ventured on our first trip together, had our first real fight (!!!), and most importantly, where we first realized just how much we meant to each other. As he knelt down in that familiar place, it felt like the perfect full circle moment – except this time, we were a little more grown-up, and a lot more in love. Today, we call Raleigh, North Carolina home, where we spend our days hiking, hunting down the best new restaurants (preferably with Indian food involved), and watching trashy reality TV because, let’s be honest, it’s a guilty pleasure. We travel together whenever we can, because what’s a life worth living without a few spontaneous getaways? Our hopes and dreams for the future are simple: to grow old together, laughing at the same jokes, sharing the same quiet moments, and finding joy in the little things. As we take this leap into forever, we’re reminded that all of you, our dear family and friends, have been with us every step of the way—whether in spirit, with an encouraging word, or, for some of you, by helping us with way too many wedding planning decisions. You are not just guests at our wedding; you are active participants in our story. So let’s raise a glass to love, laughter, and a lifetime of happiness!
