It was the first day of Conducting class at Rogers State University. I just got out of a long relationship and was not looking for anyone at the moment. I walked into that class with the expectations to show off my musician skills. Suddenly, I heard the classroom door shut right at the start of class. It was Tyler; She walked into the classroom, we both locked eyes and she sat right next to me in the only empty desk. I introduced myself and we joked around for just a few minutes. Our first assignment was to conduct a piece at the following basketball game later that week. As head of the drum line I played in the stands as it's Tyler's turn to conduct. We locked eyes again. She followed my tempo; It feels like yesterday. Later that night; I ventured back into the gymnasium to look for her, but she was not there. I could not wait, so I messaged her on Facebook and it was the best decision I ever made. Sincerely, Kolton
Due to my superior time management, I was probably going to be late to class on the first day back. Wonderful. I rushed through the door, walked down the hall, turned the corner, and immediately made eye contact with the cute new guy. That said, of course I HAD to sit by him. I knew everyone else in the room, as I had class with them last semester; however, the girl that usually sits by me was already chatting up said cute guy. So, out of intimidation and slight jealousy, I spoke up and introduced myself. Later that evening, I took to Twitter my attractive find of the day. Here I admit to some curious friends that I thought his name was “Colton” but “he told me while I was still in the mesmerized state”. Little did I know that two days later he’d end up helping me with my conducting assignment at the basketball game while putting up with the interrogations hosted by my friends on my behalf. From my awkwardness, not so nonchalant friends, and my inability to find this guy after the game, I assumed he thought I was weird and left. I then returned home to gush my feelings of the night’s events to my poor mother. After convincing myself he’d never talk to me again (2 hours of wallowing later), he messaged me. Time has stopped and all is well in the world. Rejoice! We talk all night and 3.5 years later...we’re tying the knot. -Tyler
