Mikayla and Kolton had their first class together in third grade at Ruth McGregor Elementary. In a class reading of the tall tale Pecos Bill Kolton was chosen to be Pecos Bill and Mikayla was Slue-Foot Sue. The characters in the story get married, so that's when their first wedding actually took place. ❤️

Mikayla was invited to Kolton's surprise Sweet 16 birthday party. After a few piggy-back rides, playing hide-and-seek with classmates, and stargazing on the pond deck the deal was practically sealed. The two started dating a few weeks later on October 7th, 2010 during their Sophomore year of high school.

Kolton and Mikayla both attended Eastern Michigan University together. Kolton majored in Mechanical Engineering, Mikayla majored in Exercise Science for Pre-Medicine. They both graduated in 2017 Cum Laude with Bachelor's of Science degrees.

On vacation in Muskegon, Michigan for their 7th anniversary Kolton privately proposed at the top of a sand dune.

Mikayla said yes to the dress!
