Years of martial arts classes, competitions, friend groups, and one text about a ride led to Kolten and Chelsea spending any time they weren't competing at the Infinity Nationals Karate Competition hanging out together. One weekend turned into movie dates and family hangouts. Nearly a decade full of fun and friends it's time for the wedding!

We had a long-planned trip to Japan to see our friends compete at Pokemon World Championships that finally came to fruition in August. After the fun filled week in Tokyo, the Championchips in Yokohama and more exploring with our 9 other Friends in Osaka, Kyoto and Nara we got to the last leg of our trip where the group of 11 dwindled to 3. Kolten, Chelsea and (awesome videographer) Calvin spend the last 3 days in Kyoto. After making it through the 115-degree heat and walking up the mountain we made it to our hotel. Kolten insisted we had to go out and do something with our day, the three of us made it to the first temple on our list. Armed with a camera, sweat towels and the promise of ice cream after our tour, we did our full walking tour of the Kinkaku-ji Shrine (a golden temple). Kolten suggested we do one more lap around so we could get a nice photo of just the two of us during this trip. With our friend Calvin holding the camera and a slick misdirection, Kolten proposed with a ring he bought accompanied by his brother Kaide just a few days prior in an Osaka shopping district. A beautiful ring in a beautiful place means it's time to start planning the party!
