Question

Do I need a passport?

Answer

Yes. To enter the Dominican Republic you must have a valid passport that does not expire at least 6 months after your return date of travel (Must be valid until 9/2023). Typical processing time is 10-12 weeks to renew a passport. For more information on how to apply and/or renew please visit: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports.html You may book your stay with our travel agent before obtaining your passport. A copy of your passport will just need to be provided before the trip. For those who are changing names on their new passport, the name on your passport and the name on your info. sheet must match.

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

Yes, children are welcome at the resort and venue.

Question

WHAT IF I HAVE DIETARY RESTRICTIONS?

Answer

Please indicate your dietary restrictions and allergies when you RSVP! It is very important for us to know so Kukua can prepare your food accordingly. The resort offers many meal options for those with dietary restrictions.

Question

Are the ceremony and reception wheelchair accessible? What about the hotel?

Answer

Yes, yes, and yes! Wheelchair rentals are also available at the resort. Deplaning is NOT wheelchair accessible (you exit the plane via stairs onto the tarmac), but flight staff will be available to assist. Please request this information in your airport pickup/drop off reservation.

Question

When is the RSVP deadline?

Answer

Please RSVP through the "RSVP" tab by November 1, 2022. One person can respond for everyone in their respective party or household. Please make sure to include children as well. Please note that your room deposit will serve as a confirmation for your RSVP.

Question

DO I NEED A VACCINE? ( & OTHER COVID INFO)

Answer

At this time, you DO NOT need to be vaccinated and you DO NOT need a COVID test to enter the Dominican Republic. As of June 12, 2022, the U.S. no longer requires proof of a negative test to come back to the United States. We will provide updates as we hear of any new information regarding COVID requirements.

Question

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony and the reception will be completely outdoors, and the dinner portion of the wedding will be held in an outdoor, covered setting.

Question

What should I wear to the wedding? Can I wear heels?

Answer

Yes, you can wear heels! There will be a wooden walkway to the beach ceremony, but the seats are on the sand. The cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing will be held on solid surfaces. The dress code is "Beach Semi-Formal." We would like for our guests to be comfortable, especially in the Caribbean sun, so we suggest wearing lightweight clothing. For example: Men: lightweight, linen, dressy pants; button-down shirt; dress shoes. Women: short/long dress, rompers; lightweight dressy pants; any shoes that you'll be comfy in (heels, sandals, flats).

Question

More hotel/travel logistics, please!

Answer

The hotel is about a 20 minute drive from the airport (PUJ). The hotel is all-inclusive meaning all meals, drinks, & snacks are included with your stay. Cash tipping is not mandatory, but encouraged. The resort has a family friendly section and an Adults Only (18+) section. No matter what section you choose to stay in, everyone will be able to see each other and enjoy shared amenities. As with any vacation, we recommend purchasing travel insurance - just in case! Our travel agent can provide a quote upon booking.

Question

When are Kole & Katie arriving?

Answer

We will be arriving on Friday, February 24th and departing Sunday, March 5th. Please come & go whenever you'd like.

Question

IS TRANSPORTATION PROVIDED?

Answer

Round-trip airport to resort transfers are included in the price of your room when reserving in our room block. Complimentary round-trip transportation will be provided for guests on the day of the wedding. Kukua is about 5 minutes from the resort.

Question

CAN I DRINK THE WATER?

Answer

Fortunately, since the DR thrives on tourism, all of the hotels and restaurants (Kukua) use filtered water for cooking, drinking, and ice. However, we strongly advise our guests to not consume the tap water in the hotel rooms. Each room should have a fully stocked fridge ready for use. Bottled water is available everywhere.

Question

what will the weather be like?

Answer

The average high is around 84 degrees Fahrenheit, with an average low of 71 degrees Fahrenheit in the evenings. February in Punta Cana is still a part of the dry season so there is less rain and humidity than other months, but be prepared for rain either way and pack that extra hairspray as we will be in the Caribbean!

Question

What's up with the room block?

Answer

Our room block is open for reservations until November 20, 2022. Booking is still available through our travel agent after November 20th, however availability of rooms and the fixed rate is no longer guaranteed. Booking directly through the hotel or a third party vendor is, of course, always an option. Please let the bride or groom know if you book through an alternative route so we can include you in wedding events taking place at the resort.

Question

DO I BOOK MY OWN AIRFARE?

Answer

You are more than welcome to book your own airfare, or feel free to use our Travel Agent!

Question

WHAT DAY SHOULD WE ARRIVE? HOW MANY NIGHTS DO WE NEED TO STAY?

Answer

Our wedding is on February 28, 2023. So, you should arrive no later than February 27, 2023. We recommend arriving 2 days early to allow for any flight delays/issues that may arise. There is a 3 night minimum, but you can extend your trip to as long as you’d like past the 3 nights. The bride & groom will be departing on Sunday, March 5th.
