Many of you already know how we met, but for those of you who don’t or those of you who would like to go down memory lane, please read on! In May of 2013, after graduating college, Jenny applied to work at Canobie Lake Park in Salem, New Hampshire (an amusement park) for the summer. Meanwhile Greg (being the young one) was still in college and had already been working at said amusement park for over a year. Their paths did not cross at first, but halfway through the summer Jenny started working in the personnel office of the amusement park and hence crossed paths with many other employees. One of these employees was Greg! Jenny remembers sitting at lunch with Greg and other group leaders that year, but Greg doesn’t (it’s fine). The next season both Greg and Jenny got promoted to Supervisor and Jenny messaged Greg on Facebook to congratulate him! He was surprised that she got the job (again, it’s fine, it’s all fine). From there, they worked together almost every day for 14 hours, and they became best friends. They talked often and hung out often. After that season Greg went to school and Jenny worked yet another random off season job. Then Jenny and some other great friends headed to UNH in February to celebrate Greg’s 21st birthday. After a night of laughing and dancing, Greg kissed Jenny on the cheek. Jenny visited Greg at school every weekend after that and they fell in love❤️
Jenny had wanted Greg to propose for a very long time (...years?) and she began to look for times when he might be proposing. One sunny June afternoon (June 13th) Jenny's parents invited Jenny, Greg, Jenny's siblings and some close friends to their house for a cookout. Jenny thought this was a cover for Greg proposing (she was wrong). While there Jenny's sister Becca said she had found a cool place to walk in Maine and that she was going there the next day. Jenny asked what place and Becca said, Marginal Way in Ogunquit, Maine! Now, Jenny thought this was a rather large coincidence that Becca had happened upon Marginal Way online when Jenny and Greg and been talking about going back there for awhile. Anyway, when Becca asked Jenny if she wanted to go, Jenny said yeah sure! That night there may have been some minor setbacks, such as Jenny figuring out that Greg was proposing and Greg trying to convince her that he wasn't. Fast forward to that next day Sunday June 14th and Jenny, Greg, Becca, Martee and Ryan go walking on Marginal Way, a beautiful cliff beach walk in Ogunquit near a quaint downtown area. On the way back down the walk Greg picked a gorgeous spot and proposed to Jenny in front of the ocean, her sisters and some random strangers also walking on Marginal Way. Of course Jenny said yes! Martee, Becca and Ryan had brought champagne, they popped it and celebrated with that and some ice cream (Greg and Jenny's favorite) at a small shop downtown. It was a perfect day topped off with dinner (Chinese food - another favorite) and family.
