We met on an internet dating site! While maybe not the most romantic meeting, it was done in typical Trevor jokester fashion. His first words involved poking fun at the fact that Brittany was wearing a Chicago Cubs hat in one of the photos on her profile. They were instantly hooked by the friendly banter. After having multiple conversations over a week span they decided to meet at none other than the popular restaurant called Cowboy Jack's in Bloomington, MN on March 27th. Although Trevor wanted to get coffee before work, he quickly learned the lack of enthusiasm Brittany had for mornings. After 4 hours of conversation following dinner, long after the server closed the section they sat in they decided that they needed to see each other again. The rest is history!
We are currently fixing up our first home preparing to sell and purchase a second flip. Both of us enjoy the thrill of refinishing and refurbishing something and making it new again. Our goal is to continue to flip homes throughout the twin cities area. After being together for about 6 months Trevor decided to buy a house. After a couple months of looking they decided on their current home in Shakopee, MN. Once Trevor closed on the house and they got settled in they decided to get a Chocolate Lab Puppy. They named him Jax after the first place they met, Cowboy Jack's. Trevor and Brittany now have three animals living in their home. Reu is a 4 year old tabby cat that Brittany had before she met Trevor. Jax a nearly 3 year old chocolate lab previously mentioned. Roary a 1 year old calico cat they got together from a farm in Dayton, MN.
The 26th started as a normal day as we prepared to travel back to Minnesota from South Dakota. We had visited my family for Christmas. He made this day special for me from the moment we left and I had no idea his plan for later that night. Trevor knows how much I hate driving, so he drove the whole way back while I watched a movie on my iPad. He was tired when we got back so he asked if we could take a quick nap, I love naps so I was all in! We slept for about an hour and once up we discussed dinner and Trevor recommended that we check out a place in Prior Lake, MN. We had been meaning to check out that area so I agreed that it would be the perfect way to finish out our night and our Christmas Holiday. Dinner at Charlie's on Prior Lake was perfect, we shared appetizers, an entree and some wine. We decided to finish out the night at home with the last of the bottle we had ordered from the restaurant. Once we got home, I wanted to put my comfy's on so I went strait to the closet. Little did I know Trevor was preparing to ask me the one question that started our forever. I entered our living room and met Trevor who was holding two glasses of wine and a laughing smile on his face. He said I changed too quickly, he had a present for me. This may not sound out of the ordinary since it was the day after Christmas but I still gave him a funny look. We were not giving each other presents this year so I was confused, for about 1.5 seconds. I instantly started crying, because I was not expecting this. Since our 3 year anniversary was coming up I was expecting this to happen then. Trevor asked me to marry him, in front of our Christmas tree. It was beyond perfect. Side Story - People who know Jax our pup, know that he protects me to a fault. While Trevor was proposing to me, Jax tackled me because he thought my sobbing meant I was hurt. So now I'm sob-laughing while getting puppy kisses, waiting for the question I planned to say yes to.
