Hotel
The Van der Valk Hotel has an easy bus connection to/from Schiphol Airport (the bus stops directly in front of the hotel). It is a 10 minute drive from Nieuwe Kerk (religious ceremony), and a 12 minute drive from Orangerie Elswout (wedding venue). The hotel has a variety of different room configurations (from bunk beds to family suites). However, it is a bit further out from the Haarlem city center than the Carlton Square Hotel. Koen and Cassie will be staying here.
Hotel
The Carlton Square Hotel is within walking distance of Haarlem city center. The hotel is a 7 minute walk to our church ceremony and a 10 minute drive to Orangerie Elswout for our civil ceremony. It is possible to take public transit to the hotel from the airport; however, the bus from the airport would stop in the Haarlem city center and then it would be a 10 minute walk to the hotel.
Flight
Haarlem is a 16 minute drive from Amsterdam Airport. You can call a taxi directly at the airport (though make sure it's an official taxi and not a driver who comes up to you at the airport) or you can call an Uber. A taxi costs 50-70 euros. There is also a bus that will take you directly to the Van der Valk Haarlem hotel or to Haarlem city center (which is a 10 minute walk to the Carlton Square Hotel. The bus picks up right in front of the entrance to the airport (platform B8 - B10) and you can buy a ticket on board from the driver (make sure to have some small euro bills) or on the 9292 app. The fare is around 5 euros and the ride takes around 40 minutes.
Train
For those who want to explore Amsterdam and surrounding cities while visiting, the public train service (NS) is a great way to get around country. Tickets can be bought online, at the Haarlem station, or on the NS app.
