End of September 2017 we met well… online 😂 After messaging back and forth for about a month we decided it was time to meet! Our first date was a beautiful sit down Chinese restaurant in downtown Hudson Wisconsin. We both ended up ordering the same thing! (Something we both still do) After our meal we didn't want the night to end, Phil offered going for a walk but it was so cold outside. So instead we decided to go for a drive. We drove around the countryside talking and getting to know each other and before we knew it, it had gotten pretty late, so home we went. After another month of talking and a few more dates we made it official. I'll always be forever grateful for the way Phil loves my kids and me. Pretty soon Phil had moved in and a few months later we found out we were pregnant with Waylin! We were over the moon excited! Blair and Parker couldn't wait to welcome a new brother into the world. We bought our first home in Amery and lived there for about a year. Watching our kids grow and making memories in our new home was pretty special to us. It was really hard to leave our Amery house but it was necessary to find a bigger place. Soon we moved to Clayton, but just before we moved, we found out we were pregnant again. 4 kids! How crazy. But we love the crazy life we have made. We spent the summer enjoying our new home and getting ready for our new baby. Soon our little Boden was here and our life felt complete besides one thing!? We wanted to get married. So here we are. We are so excited and more than ready to take on this next chapter in our lives. We think it is incredibly special that we get to share our wedding day with our kids by our side.
Phil and I planned a trip up north to Duluth Minnesota for our first anniversary. It was a bit chilly but a beautiful day. When we go somewhere, or do something special, we bring along a little jar of some kind to save sand, rocks, or whatever will fit in the jar. So Phil brought me to the beach on Lake Superior to fill our jar with sand. Phil was so shaky, I kept asking if he wanted to go back thinking he was cold, but he insisted he was fine. So we filled our jar and before I knew it Phil was down on one knee asking me to be his wife! It was so perfect!
I was very hesitant to bring anyone around Blair and Parker, but after awhile of getting to know Phil, it was time. So I invited him to come to Parker's 3rd birthday party. This also meant he’d be meeting my family for the first time. Blair and Parker warmed up to him right away and I was a bit shocked! Not only were they comfortable with him but he was amazing with them. It felt too good to be true. I'm glad it went so well! We ended up taking a family picture of everyone who came to Parker's party and this would be our first picture together. It is now one of our favorite pictures and memories together.
