Kody left Nan’s birthday party and headed to Hempen Hill for a sandwich and a beer not expecting to meet Corrina who was getting off work as a server. Corrina sat at the end of the bar, finishing her shift work, not expecting to see Kody walk in and take a seat alone at the bar. Each plotted separately on how to make their move, and Corrina was relieved when Kody approached her first. They sat and enjoyed a drink together and, not wanting the conversation to end, decided to continue it at the Broad Axe. They scheduled a hike in Harpers Ferry for the next weekend and never looked back!

On an unseasonably warm December day, Kody suggested that he and Corrina take 1 year old Jonathan for a hike at Gambrill Mountain. Jonathan decided to take a long nap, and Kody said “maybe we’ll catch the sunset.” They did a short hike and stopped near the top to enjoy the sunset. Corrina looked back at Kody to see that he had pulled out a ring from his pocket!

We chose Citizen’s Ballroom in downtown Frederick for our wedding location. We both feel a strong sense of “home” in downtown Frederick because this is where we first lived together and where we grew our relationship and friendships with some of our closest friends.
