The ceremony and cocktail hour will take place outside. The ceremony site has full sun exposure while the cocktail hour area has partial shade. The reception will take place inside the barn. We recommend bringing a jacket for the chilly mountain evenings.
Buena Vista sits at about 8,000 feet above sea level, which means warm, sunny days and cool, crisp nights—typically in the 60s–70s°F during the day and 40s°F in the evening. Because of the higher elevation, it’s important to stay hydrated (drink plenty of water with your beers!) and take it easy your first day or two if you’re not used to the altitude.
Transportation will be provided for the wedding day. Shuttle pick-ups and drop-offs will be available from downtown Buena Vista and from the Best Western. Specific times will be shared closer to the big day. Guests are responsible for their own transportation for all other events and exploring the area. Of note, Uber/Lyft and taxi services are limited in the area.
For the welcome dinner, dress in casual cocktail attire—something nice but comfortable for an evening in the mountains. For the wedding, the dress code is formal. The ceremony and reception will be outdoors, so we recommend bringing a jacket, as the mountain air can get cool once the sun goes down.
Help us get the party started as scheduled! We recommend that you arrive 30 minutes before the start of the ceremony to make sure everyone is seated on time. The ceremony starts at 4:00 PM.
There is on site parking with ADA accessible parking close to building. You may leave your car overnight provided you pick it up by 8:00 AM the following day.
Buena Vista has plenty of great options, from cozy hotels and inns to cabins and vacation rentals. We’ve reserved a room block at the Best Western for our guests—please visit the Travel & Accommodations page for booking details and more travel information. We recommend booking as early as possible as Buena Vista is a small town and accommodations fill up quickly, especially during this time of year.
We love your little ones, but the wedding and reception will be an adults-only celebration. Guests are welcome to look into local daycare or babysitting options in the Buena Vista area if needed. We hope you enjoy a relaxing and fun weekend away—you deserve it!
We have worked really hard to create an intimate celebration that includes all of our closest family members and friends. Therefore, we regretfully ask our guests to please not bring a plus one, unless they are specifically named on the invitation.
