Hello, MaKayla here! The website is mainly (not completely) me speaking. This will be my perspective but of course both of our experiences. Conner and I worked together for a long time before we ever became more than friends. He was thrown back behind the bar for the first time in a long time on pretty much the super-bowl of restaurants, Dads weekend at Ohio University. We were expecting an extremely popular night and were down one bartender leaving me alone back there on the busiest night of the year. If you've ever bartended you'd know that you're working in a small space and who you work with matters. Well as the night began to roll we absolutely killed it, working together like we've been a team for years. Conner had a guest ask him how long we've been a team behind the bar because we were amazing together. Him, having a crush on me, said "hey tell her that" with a wink. I remember thinking that we really did make a great team. That night we both made the most money we had ever made while working at Texas roadhouse. Fast forward many months and many nights bartending together, he starts asking me on dates pretty much every time we worked together. I finally said yes on valentines day and he took me on a date literally the day after. For our first date we went to Hocking Hills Winery, which to his surprise- didn't have food. We then made our way to Millstone BBQ and shared a ribeye, I remember thinking that this is what it would feel like to do life with him and that I would love every second of it. Fast forward we went on dates everyday after our first and were pretty much inseparable. We both went to spring break to the same area (neither of us knew that we were going there) and ended up sharing most of our time there together as well as with our closest friends. We went on a beautiful unforgettable date over looking the ocean and that's where he asked me to be his girlfriend. We arrive back home, I work the day I get back from the airport and BAM shut down. We quarantined together and I truly believe this is where we blossomed into the pair we are today. We did so many fun and life giving things. We took long walks, went on picnics, ate take-out like no ones business, played video games, cleaned, refurbished furniture, literally anything our hearts desired. While this was a somber time for many it really shaped us so beautifully together. Fast forward, we moved to Columbus together. We have two beautiful dogs that are our world. We have a beautiful life together. I genuinely couldn't imagine my life to be anymore beautiful than it already is, but everyday it gets better and better. I cannot wait until we get to celebrate with our amazing family and friends the love we share. We look forward to celebrating our love with you all!
