Question

OK... We're coming! What's the plan? I need to know!!

Answer

We’re so excited to celebrate with you! If you love a good itinerary, here’s a brief rundown: Day 1: Setting Sail from Florida We'll set sail from Florida and start exploring the Disney Wish. Feel free to hang out with us or explore the ship on your own. There’s so much to see and do, from laying out on the deck and soaking up the sun to enjoying a space-y drink at the Star Wars themed Hyperspace Lounge or pampering yourself at the Senses Spa. In the evening, we’ll all gather for dinner, which will be a nightly tradition. Day 2: Nassau, Bahamas When we dock in Nassau, you can either explore the local area, book a tour through Disney's port adventures (on their app while you're on board), or stay on the ship and join in the onboard activities. This day is all about YOU so TREAT YO SELF! In the evening, we’ll have dinner together and maybe afterwards you can participate in our pre-wedding celebration with a on-board bar crawl! (FYI - this is PIRATE NIGHT so you'll be seeing a lot of Mateys on board dressed up WHICH you can certainly participate in too!) Day 3: Castaway Cay & The Big Day! This is it! The big day! 10 years ago we were married in a private ceremony by the Justice of Peace in Northampton, PA and now we'll get to renew our vows in front of our family and friends in the Bahamas! In the morning, crew members will shuttle everyone to the pier, Wedding Pointe, where the ceremony will happen. After the ceremony, we'll take some photos and head back to the ship for some cake! Everything should wrap up around noon so you should have enough time to change into your swimsuits, hit the beach and enjoy an island BBQ. We’ll reconvene for dinner back on the ship in the evening. Day 4: Heading Home We’ll dock back in Florida in the morning and have breakfast together before saying our goodbyes and heading home after an amazing Disney weekend. This overview is just a guide. We want to keep things relaxed so you can enjoy every moment.

Question

How do I get to Port Canaveral?

Answer

Local or Driving Your Own Car If you’re local or driving into town, parking at Port Canaveral’s parking lot costs $17.00 per day plus tax. Booked via Merrie (Dreams Unlimited Travel Agent) Merrie can arrange a Disney motorcoach (called a "TRANSFER") to pick you up and drop you off. The bus will pick you up at either a Disney-owned resort hotel or the MCO airport. A one-way transfer (Resort/Airport to Port Canaveral or Port Canaveral to Resort/Airport) is $45 per person. Uber / Lyft Prices will vary, but if you’re traveling with a large party, this might be a more economical option. An rideshare from Orlando International Airport (MCO) to Port Canaveral can cost between $62 and $154, depending on the type of vehicle you pick and factors like surge pricing. Car Rental Prices vary, but we recommend using Enterprise. They’re very close to the Disney Cruise Line terminal and offer complimentary shuttle service to and from the cruise terminals.

Question

Should I prepay gratuities?

Answer

Yes, we recommend prepaying gratuities. Gratuities are $14.50 per person per night of the cruise. For our 3-night cruise, the total would be $43.50 per person. For a stateroom with 4 passengers, the total would be $174.00, and for a stateroom with 2 passengers, it would be $87.00. Paying these in advance can reduce your onboard account charges. You can prepay once your cruise is fully paid. If you booked through Dreams Unlimited Travel, contact Merrie for assistance. Gratuities are shared among the four crew members who take care of you during your cruise: the dining room server, assistant server, head server, and stateroom host. If you don’t prepay, these gratuities will be charged to your stateroom account on the last night of the cruise.

Question

Do I need a Passport?

Answer

Although Disney Cruise Line does encourage Guests to carry a passport with them during their voyage, if you’ll be boarding a Round Trip (or “closed loop”) voyage, that is, a cruise that leaves from and returns to the same United States port, US Citizens in your travel party don’t need to have a passport in order to set sail. What they’ll need instead for their travel documentation would be an original or copy of their state-issued birth certificate AND a physical Government-issued photo ID. If there are any children 15 years of age and younger in your travel party, they don’t need to present a photo ID – they only need to present an original or copy of their state-issued birth certificate if they don’t have a passport.

Question

SHOULD I BRING CASH? CREDIT CARDS? FOREIGN CURRENCY?

Answer

Transactions aboard the ship are in U.S. dollars. In The Bahamas, the Caribbean and in Mexico, U.S. dollars and major credit cards are accepted almost everywhere. One exception are gratuities for the Porters who check your luggage and assist in retrieving it at the end of your cruise. Disney Cruise Line has a convenient "cash-free" system on board the ship. When you arrive at the Disney Cruise Line Terminal at Port Canaveral, your signature will be requested for check-in. At this time you may also present a credit card which will give you charging privileges aboard the ship. Any purchases on the ship, including beverage services, spa, salon services, photography, medical and laundry services, purchases from the retail shops, gratuities, and any item or service of a personal nature, must be charged to your room. All charges must be settled before your disembarkation from the ship by cash, personal check, or the credit cards mentioned above.

Question

Where and when is dinner?

Answer

If you’re a foodie like me, knowing what you can expect to eat on vacation is a must. And one of the best parts about traveling on Disney Cruise Line is rotational dining – a concept that remains exclusive to DCL. This allows you to dine in different restaurants throughout your voyage, giving you the opportunity to experience highly themed environments, feast on various cuisines, and maybe even see some of your favorite characters along the way. While you enjoy a different dinner each night, your service team accompanies you, meaning that you get personalized service with friendly and familiar faces. The Disney Wish features 3 different dining locations – 1923, Worlds of Marvel, and Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure. For those with allergies or special preferences, no need to worry. There is a separate menu available with some additional items as well as clear indications of what you can enjoy. Simply ask your server and bon appétit! We will be assigned to the 5:45pm (main seating) timeslot during our cruise. Remember, throughout the day various food options will be available to you to take advantage of!
