Melissa and Adam swiped right! After a few days of exchanging messages on Tinder, Melissa and Adam decided to give it a whirl and go on their first date. Adam took Melissa to one of his favorite Milwaukee spots, City Lights Brewing Company. After sampling some of their beer with Pat McCurdy playing in the background, they weren't ready for the night to end. Adam suggested going to Y Not II, another Milwaukee favorite. That night, Adam and Melissa said yes to a second date and, four years later, Melissa (and Honey) said yes to forever.
It was a cold evening on December 12th, 2020. Adam asked Melissa to go to dinner that night at Onesto downtown, Milwaukee. Before going to dinner, Adam wanted to drop their dog Honey off at his parent’s house to keep his mom company while his dad was “out of town”. Little did Melissa know, his dad Ron wasn’t out of town, and instead he, Adam’s mom Kris, Adam’s sister Lauren and Lauren's fiancé Sohum had spent the evening setting up a lit up “Marry Me” sign along with rose petals, and candles around the sign. When Adam and Melissa showed up at Adam’s parent’s house to drop off Honey, Adam’s mom told Adam and Melissa to go around back and look at the new Christmas decorations that Adam’s dad had set up. Melissa immediately knew something up. “Adam what is going on???” As they turned the corner, Melissa saw the “Marry Me” sign and all the decorations and began sobbing uncontrollably. Adam popped the question and Melissa said “YES!” That wasn’t the end of the surprises, though. Adam then told Melissa they had to walk back to the garage. When he opened the garage, inside were their best friends and family including Melissa’s brother Jeremy who had driven up to Wisconsin from Georgia. Que the uncontrollable sobbing again. The rest of the night was spent outside celebrating around a bonfire. That’s right, the party was had outside in the middle of December in Wisconsin. It was the perfect way for us to begin our life together.
