Julia and Will met at the Cru campus ministry's Fall Retreat in 2021. At Fall Retreat in 2022, they talked by a campfire late into the night, and it was clear they were interested in each other. Will tried to entertain her by going to the Busch Gardens haunted house for the first date, but she suggested starting with dinner instead because neither had eaten, and it was 8pm. They hit it off spectacularly! As time progressed, there was no doubt that they had found the one they wanted to grow old with. A year after they spontaneously explored Elizabeth City, NC, they returned, and Will popped the question! She said yes!!!
