Kevin started his career with the Longview Police Department in March of 2010. Almost one year later, February 2011 Kayla began hers. As cliche as it sounds, this special bond flourished through the relationship that Kevin and Kayla shared as police officer and dispatcher. Late in the year of 2013 these two began to consider one another fairly good friends. By early 2014 they were sharing thoughts and secrets to which only one another would only be privy. They started hanging out with one another around March 2014. The more they hung out with one another, the more fun they realized they had together. The very first time Kayla went to hang out with Kevin, he actually hid a can of silly string, waited for her to come inside, then surprised her with an attack! They slowly, but surely, stole one another's heart. By April they had experienced their first kiss. The big change however, wasn't until May. May 13th of 2014 became a date that would change their lives forever. They officially began dating. Throughout the rest of the next 2 years they continued to take their lives on an amazing adventure. They took their first road trip to Florida, a place that would become very special to them. They stayed about 4 days at Navarre Beach. During this trip they grew very close to one another. They went on other trips together to see Maverick's games, Ranger's Games, visited various museums, attended multiple concerts to include Disturbed, Newsboys, Nonpoint, Casting Crowns, A Perfect Circle, and Garth Brooks. They traveled all over with one another experiencing a variety of places and events. Throughout these couple years, they began to realize just how close they had grown to one another. This got Kevin to thinking...

After about 2 years and 3 months of dating, their relationship took another step forward. During their 2nd trip to Florida, Kevin had planned out a very special day. Monday, August 29th of 2018, they had decided to take a trip down to an empty place on the beach to observe the waves as hurricane Hermine inched closer to them. As the morning hours crept by, Kevin began to walk a little further down the beach with Kayla, while his parents stayed a little further back. Kevin created a private moment where he would begin to confess his feelings to her. He grabbed her hand and nervously explained what Kayla meant to him. Before she knew it, Kevin was on one knee asking for forever. Tears rolling down her face, she could hardly catch her breath as she nodded yes. After much celebration, Kevin and Kayla began to plan one of the biggest moments of their life.

They truly are blessed to have the amount of love and support along their adventure of life.
