We met while working at Chick-fil-A in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Abby worked up front and Brandon worked in the kitchen. Abby's first day of woking at Chick-Fil-A Brandon was yelling at someone in the back, and Abby made sure to steer clear of Brandon. Brandon still cannot wrap his head around how this sweet and bubbly girl would fall for a greasy and grumpy kitchen worker. Brandon soon found himself wanting to only order his lunch from Abby's register. Abby found herself not wanting Brandon to order from her register because he scared her. Chick-Fil-A had a company party where we could finally start talking to each other more, and Abby realized this Brandon guy as his Uncle Joe would say is "pretty aight". Abby left the party before Brandon could get her number. Unbeknownst to Abby, Brandon convinced one of the managers to give him Abby's number from her employee contact information (Yikes) and he was finally able to ask her out.
Our first date started with Brandon meeting Abby's parents at MOD Pizza for lunch, because that was a requirement for Abby before any guy was going to date her. Of course Abby's parents wanted to ask Brandon plenty of questions, but unfortunately Brandon could only answer so many while choking on the EXTRA cheesy cheese pizza Brandon was served. After many cheesy bites and questions later, Brandon took Abby putt putt and hiking up Pulpit Rock. This led to us to going on many other dates with hiking, putt putt (abby is still winning in the putt putt count), movies, and going to chiles being some of our favorite places to go.
Fast forward five years, and we now live in Alabama. Brandon buys the ring and wants to surprise Abby. But how do you surprise a girl who is a professional photographer who has shot many engagement sessions? Well, you decide to do it during one of her photoshoots. But Abby was still suspicious as to why her mom wanted every wrinkle out of her dress, and Brandon was suddenly invested in the best lighting spots for pictures. Brandon hired another photographer to pretend to also be taking photos, and once Abby was done with her session, he walked her to the perfect spot, got down on one knee, and attempted to ask the question. Hard emphasis on attempted because Brandon got so choked up he couldn't say much besides, "Will you marry me?" A whole speech flushed down the drain. After a yes and many tears, we headed home for a surprise party for Abby with friends and family, who we could celebrate with.
