It was midway through another classic Phish run at our beloved Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Denver, CO. Tyler had wandered back during the end of the first set in hopes of catching a glimpse of the elusive Bret “Disco” Berman. However, it wasn’t Bret’s incessant dance moves that caught Tyler’s eye, it was his sister. Glittered up and mesmeric, Laura was a shining beacon in a sea of dirty hippies. Laura was consumed by the music, and Tyler quickly realized that he had met his match on the dance floor. As the music ended, the two settled to the ground for set break to smile, laugh and share a fleeting moment. As the second set began, Tyler returned to his tribe in the front of the venue, and all that was left was a memory. As it was, both parties were exiting tumultuous relationships that year. They loved spending time together, but were working through hard times. One thing they both knew, was that when they were together, they felt inextricably linked. The two shared the love of music and dancing, as well as a passion for helping others grow. Tyler is a high school science teacher and Laura is a therapist specializing in trauma. Another very strong connection was their desire to have a family. Well, careful what you wish for! In the Summer of 2016, while vacationing on Lake George, NY, Laura discovered she was pregnant. The shock quickly turned to excitement and they were designing their baby girl’s nursery. Teaghan Rue Knauer was born in April of 2017 and has been the joy of their lives ever since. Teags, as they call her, will be front and center at the wedding celebration as Tyler and Laura vow to marry one another. This family of three is honored to have you join their Summer Solstice Wedding celebration on the river in the mountains of Colorado!
