This is the last first date I’m going on for a while,” little did she know she was casting a spell with those words. Fortunately, neither was abandoned—one just simply possessed the texting prowess of a cursed potato! By the second date, which featured an epic late-night miniature painting quest at Michael’s lair, Katherine was enchanted. Whether it was the wax stamp collection, singing along to Disney musicals together, or the hours of excited nerdy banter that swept the night away; She knew she had found her nerdy match. Love, for Michael, blossomed at its own leisurely pace. During a Cupid-sanctioned archery session, Michael offhandedly remarked he felt unusually warm—akin to declaring “it's a tad moist” amidst a tempest of a hurricane! Unbeknownst to our gallant Robin Hood, he was destined to be struck by a feverish curse of 104°, courtesy of a wicked Covid spell. As ominous visions of doom swirled around him, Katherine emerged as his valiant knight in shining pajamas, devotedly attending to his every need with a touch of enchantment, weaving spells of healing and gatorade summoning! This was when Michael realized there was no other maiden for him. From multiple ER escapades (one even overseas), to painting competitions, job hiccups, new dwellings, disabilities, and a slew of renaissance fairs, Michael and Katherine have conquered the quests of “in sickness and in health” and “for better or for worse,” proving they’re the stuff of magical love stories.
