We spent our first date brewery hopping in Lake Mills. We spent the entire day laughing, quoting movies and talking about hunting. We both had a great time, but left feeling uneasy for the future since we lived so far away from each other. But that didn't stop us from going on a second date where we went bowling and one of us took it easy on the other, but we're not telling who. We ended up spending the weekend together and our feelings for each other only grew stronger and our relationship started blooming into what it is now.
Pretty sure everyone saw this one coming a year and a half later. Well, everyone except Rachel. We got engaged on September 1st, one of the hottest days of the summer. Friday's had become date nights and the original plan was to just go out for dinner. Tyler gets done with work earlier on Friday's, so he was able to set the whole thing up before Rachel was even done with work. Rachel got home and was about to get dressed for dinner when Tyler suggested they go to the hunting land and just scope things out quick before dinner. Reluctantly, Rachel agreed and they proceeded to the hunting land in their dinner clothes. Despite being very observant normally, Rachel was completely oblivious to the signs around her. She was hot and wanted to leave. But Tyler finally managed to get her going down the right trails. Together they walked past a deer trail that came to a fence with a deer antler waiting at the end of it. Tyler had brought the antler to a designer that was able to engrave it with "Will You Marry Me?" When Rachel finally noticed the writing, after having everything else pointed out to her on the hike, the realization of what was happening hit. She turned around to see Tyler on one knee with a ring in his hand. And her reaction was, "Nuh uh, shut up!" Followed by a stream of tears before saying yes.
