FAQs

If you have any questions after reviewing our FAQs, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Question

What will happen if it rains?

Answer

If there is rain, the ceremony will be moved inside.

Question

Where can I park for the ceremony & reception?

Answer

A guest parking lot is located on Polk Street, adjacent to the venue (between N Blount St and N Person St). You can access the lot from N Blount Street. There are plenty of spaces available, and cars may be left overnight.

Question

Where are the wedding day events taking place?

Answer

The ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception will all be held at the Merrimon-Wynne House in Downtown Raleigh, North Carolina.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

We would love to see our family and friends dressed to impress! Our dress code is Garden Black Tie Optional. Tuxedos or dark suites are encouraged for men. For women, we suggest floor or ankle length dresses. Florals, prints, cut-outs, slits, etc are all welcome - feel free to have fun with the season while keeping it formal! Keep in mind that the ceremony is planned to be held outdoors, however both the cocktail hour and reception will be held indoors. The Ceremony Lawn is turf, so those wearing heels should not need to worry about "sinking".

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

Please review the Travel tab for hotel accommodation options within 1 mile of the Merrimon-Wynne House. There are several additional hotel & AirBnB options available in the area if you'd prefer to stay elsewhere.

Question

Can I bring a guest?

Answer

We unfortunately cannot accommodate additional guests, not named on your invitation. Your invitation will be made addressed to "(Your Name) & Guest" if a plus one has been given to you.

Question

Are there any colors guests should avoid wearing?

Answer

We kindly ask that you avoid colors traditionally reserved for the bride - whites, ivories, and creams.
