Question

What airport should I fly into?

Answer

The closest Airport to a ferry port is Long Beach Airport, about 9 minutes from the Catalina Express in Long Beach.

Question

Is there a hotel block?

Answer

We don’t have a reserved hotel block, as we’d like our guests to have flexibility in choosing where to stay. You can book our preferred hotel at a special rate, available on the Hotels & Travel page. Avalon has plenty of hotel and airbnb options to choose from. Please book accommodations early as Catalina hotels tend to sell out quickly during this season.

Question

How do I get to the reception?

Answer

We’ve arranged transportation to make getting to the reception easy and stress-free. Following the ceremony, guests may walk or make their way to Activities Plaza in Avalon (128 Sumner Ave, Avalon, CA 90704, across from the Lobster Trap), where you’re welcome to relax, explore, or grab a drink before the evening festivities. Shuttles to the reception at Descanso Beach Club will depart from the Activities Plaza at 5:15 PM. We recommend arriving a few minutes early, as shuttles will leave promptly to ensure everyone arrives in time for the 5:30 PM cocktail hour start. Shuttles will be available for our guests through the evening.

Question

Do I need to arrange my own transportation?

Answer

Guests will be responsible for getting to the ceremony at Saint Catherine of Alexandria Church. The town of Avalon is very walkable, and the church is easily accessible by foot or golf cart, or taxi. Transportation will be provided for all events following the ceremony on Saturday, so no additional arrangements are needed after that. If you prefer to explore your own transportation, taxis and golf carts are also available throughout Avalon.

Question

What should I do between the ceremony and reception?

Answer

There will be a break between the ceremony and reception, giving you time to enjoy Avalon at your leisure. There are plenty of spots nearby to grab a drink, snack, or take in the views. You’re also welcome to return to your hotel to relax and freshen up before the evening festivities.
