Well. We were introduced by a dear mutual friend, had a drink together on our first date and hit it off immediately. Three weeks later, we struck off on a whirlwind adventure to Botswana (where he would later source her diamond engagement ring), and the rest is history in the books. Wait. That's not right. That was Prince Harry & Meghan Markle (Duchess of Sussex*)... But like Harry & Meghan, we were introduced by a mutual friend (shout out to one Kaitlyn Misheff-Crouch)! Unlike the royal couple, our friend introduced us at an outdoor punk music fest in a rough & tumble Chicago neighborhood (sorry, dad). As the story goes, it was pouring rain (#ClassicRiotFest), and Brittany wouldn't share her umbrella with Brian. Brittany stands her ground to this day - he should have planned better (#ClassicBrittany). Suffice it to say we did not hit it off immediately like the Duke & Duchess. Stubborn people take their time. About a year later, we finally hung out - at a Blackhawk's game. Had they not won, I dare say this would be a very different story, so second shout out goes to the Hawks. It's been an adventure ever since! 3 continents and hopefully 4 more to go. Brittany found out that Brian likes fruity drinks with umbrellas and has a tendency to adopt foreign accents when he's in foreign countries (not particularly well), and Brian learned that Brittany knows the lyrics to every song played on the radio in the last 50 years and has a fervent passion for big cats (her voice gets really high pitched, try asking her about lions). ...and then we got engaged at the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland (!!) We can't wait to celebrate the start of the next chapter with all of our friends and family! See you in June.
