Ken lived in Carroll Gardens for almost 7 years and Lucali just so happened to be across the street from his apartment and his favorite pizza place. He was incredibly excited to share it with Samantha and, of course, she loved it too! Expect to wait in line as this is a very popular place with celebrities and local Brooklynites.
This is one of our favorite places to eat in Brooklyn. There' a cute back patio (where dogs are allowed - Yoda has spent many dinners here) and absolutely delicious ramen! If you like spicy, make sure to order the Knuckle Head One-Off Ramen (Ken's fav) and if you're a vegetarian, make sure to try the Miso BOTAN-ical Ramen (Samantha's go-to).
Samantha discovered this shop during one of her first visits to Ken's apartment in Brooklyn and hasn't stopped going back. We love their greeting card selection (Samantha collects them!) and they always have the cutest local knick-knacks and chotchkes.
An ice cream and fountain soda shop housed in a historic 1920s apothecary. Step back in time and experience friendly 'soda jerks' mixing up small batch soda syrups, one of a kind ice cream sundaes, ice cream floats and New York egg creams...yum!!
A seasonal oyster bar aboard one of America's most prized wooden schooners. Over the course of Pilot's nearly 100 year history, she's led many lives: as a contender to be the fastest sailboat in the world, as the country's longest serving pilot ship, as a ferry for soldiers in World War II, and as a research vessel that circumnavigated the world twice...talk about an awesome place to eat!!
There's nothing quite like walking across the Brooklyn Bridge on a nice Summer day. And, the best part, it's free!! It actually used to cost a penny to cross by foot when it opened on May 24, 1883. You can make the walk across the bridge in either direction, however, the recommended way would be to start on the Brooklyn side and walk to Manhattan. This way you get the Manhattan skyline in the background during the duration of the walk along with plenty of Insta-worthy photos!
