WE SAID YES!

Some would argue, AKA Joe, that after a night of hanging out at his place with a bunch of friends I texted him telling him he was cute, however I beg to differ. We obviously met through Joe's sister, my best friend Monique and then the rest was history. As many know Joe and I started seeing each other in February and kept it a secret from everyone for nearly five months until we knew for sure it was worth it and boy it was. I think I knew he was the one when he showed up at my job with a Reeses with a bow on it.. to be continued.

We all knew the day was coming, including myself, the only question was when and how would he pop the question? After five (and a half) AMAZING years together, I mean wouldn't you? This is one of my FAVORITE stories to tell so listen up! We had planned a Mazzarese family trip to Tarpon Springs, FL Labor Day weekend of 2016. Long story short (for your sake) as the weekend approached a hurricane was brewing in the Atlantic. Despite the hurricane we packed up the sprinter van and headed South. Hurricane Hermine was a strong one and we drove right into it, making it possibly one of the scariest drives of our lives but we finally made it to our beautiful house RIGHT ON THE WATER which came fully equipped with two feet of water in it! Thank you Hurricane Hermine! I thought for sure that this was the trip that Joe would finally ask me to be his wife, but once it was Saturday afternoon I told myself this wasn't it and that I was SO wrong., little did I know.... It was about 530 in the afternoon and we were in the pool- swimming, playing beer pong and of course funneling beers, you know the usual. Joe started telling me about the first time he knew he loved me, in which I challenged him that it was not, lol and then he started talking about our life and future and then next thing you know BAM- a ring, BAM- a question. Will you be my wife? PAUSE. STOP. I'm freaking out, this can't be true, in the pool, HOW?? I looked around everyone had their phones and cameras out and were screaming and I forgot to answer YES!!!! We were surrounded by our family and friends and although I knew it was coming I was completely unaware of the moment and he could not have surprised me more. In that very moment- all of my dreams came true.
