It's 2011 and Trevor and I are blissfully living the undergrad life at the College of Charleston. We meet at college parties here and there but don't think much of it. Although, Trevor swears he noted on several occasions, "that Emily girl is really cute." As they say, timing is everything and we later found that this couldn't be more true! Fast forward to the beginning of summer 2018, I just wrapped up my third year of teaching and am oh so ready for another beautifully humid, Charleston summer. I never left sunny Charleston but Trevor braved the freezing cold to follow his dreams of becoming a dentist in Buffalo, NY. After four years of rigorous school work and amazing memories with his fellow "Tradesmen," Trevor finally made his way back down to sweet, old Charleston to begin his residency at MUSC. Lucky me to have found myself re-meeting Trevor years later on a wine tasting date at the Graft. My mother, who was staying with me at the time, looked at me and said, "well?" as I returned. I thought about our sweet, little date and responded with a confident, "there is absolutely nothing wrong with him." A pretty accurate first impression I'd say since I still haven't found anything wrong with him! In a whirlwind year and a half, we worked hard, laughed harder, traveled, spent time with family, ate our way around Charleston, moved Trevor up to Charlotte, played with Winnie...you know, all the important stuff. Needless to say, we fell in love! We fell in love with each other but also each other's families. And perhaps most importantly, Winnie is now the proud pup of two parents that give her way too much attention. What lucky girls we both are! We truly cannot wait to celebrate our little love story with you this fall and given the state of our world right now, we feel this cause for celebration could not come at a better time! We hope to see y'all in Charleston, where our love story began. XO
